Experimental and Analytical Study on Multiscale Cushioning and Energy Absorption of Aluminum Foam at Different Strain Rates

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In this research, the compressive behavior of closed-cell aluminum foam was examined across a broad strain rate spectrum, spanning from 0.005 s⁻1 to 2000 s⁻1.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Dynamic Response Analysis of Ballastless Tracks Considering the Temperature-Dependent Viscoelasticity of Cement-Emulsified Asphalt Mortar Based on a Vehicle–Track–Subgrade Coupled Model

open access: yesLubricants
This study aims to explore the dynamic response of ballastless tracks under various temperatures of the cement-emulsified asphalt (CA) mortar layer and other environmental factors.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Optimization ratios and multi factor service adaptability of cement-GGBFS stabilized silt in pavement structures

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials
Silt soil is widely distributed in coastal, river, and lacustrine sedimentary zones, characterized by high water content, low bearing capacity, high compressibility, and low permeability, representing a typical bulk solid waste.

Dynamic response of mesoscopic metal rings and thermodynamics at constant particle number

open access: yes, 1995
We show by means of simple exact manipulations that the thermodynamic persistent current $I ( \phi , N )$ in a mesoscopic metal ring threaded by a magnetic flux $\phi$ at constant particle number $N$ agrees even beyond linear response with the dynamic ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Thermocouple Sensor Response in Hot Airstream

open access: yesSensors
The response of a temperature sensor in a gas stream depends on several heat transfer phenomena. The temperature of the thermocouple’s hot junction in the hot stream is lower than the measured temperature, which causes a measurement error.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
