From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

An Emergency-Adaptive Routing Scheme for Wireless Sensor Networks for Building Fire Hazard Monitoring

open access: yesSensors, 2011
Fire hazard monitoring and evacuation for building environments is a novel application area for the deployment of wireless sensor networks. In this context, adaptive routing is essential in order to ensure safe and timely data delivery in building ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Threshold based AntNet algorithm for dynamic traffic routing of road networks

open access: yesEgyptian Informatics Journal, 2012
Dynamic routing algorithms play an important role in road traffic routing to avoid congestion and to direct vehicles to better routes. AntNet routing algorithms have been applied, extensively and successfully, in data communication network.

Learning algorithms for the control of routing in integrated service communication networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
There is a high degree of uncertainty regarding the nature of traffic on future integrated service networks. This uncertainty motivates the use of adaptive resource allocation policies that can take advantage of the statistical fluctuations in the ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Link Capacity Dimensioning Model of ATS Ground Voice Network

open access: yesPromet (Zagreb), 2009
This paper considers the aspect of dynamic routing in a circuit switched network which is not a full connected network. It also presents the theoretical considerations that affect the selection and definition of routes as well as parameters that affect ...

Distributed Dynamical Omnicast Routing

open access: yesComplex Systems, 2006
The omnicast problem addresses the need of uniform information dispersal in a group of individual nodes (robots), that is, every robot needs to receive (and process) the observations processed by everybody else. The time (or the number of schedule slots) it takes to exchange all distributedly collected information between all nodes/robots is a critical

A Dictionary Architecture for Optimized Intra-Domain Routing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Clean slate protocolThe unpredictability of outages and traffic dynamics require network engineers to keep careful watch on their infrastructures. When significant changes are identified, engineers often tweak link weights (i.e., traffic engineering ...
