Hybrid spectrum sharing in dynamic spectrum access networks
The International Conference on Information Networking 2013 (ICOIN), 2013In this work, inefficient spectrum usage problem which will lead to spectrum scarcity in future communications has been addressed. According to Federal Communications Commission, spectrum sharing is a technique to efficiently utilize the spectrum. We analyse dynamic spectrum access concepts such as overlay spectrum sharing and underlay spectrum sharing.

Dynamic Spectrum Sharing for NR-LTE Networks
2021 2nd Information Communication Technologies Conference (ICTC), 20215G has high requirements for the data rate, capacity and efficiency to support the new scenarios. Due to the scarcity of spectrum resources, dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) technology is proposed to improve spectrum efficiency. However, dynamically allocating spectrum for 4G and 5G users will bring significant interference between two systems. Currently,

Dynamic and Collaborative Spectrum Sharing: The SCATTER Approach
2019 IEEE International Symposium on Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks (DySPAN), 2019This paper presents the architecture and the basic principles behind the design and implementation of the SCATTER system, a wireless end-to-end communication system that participated in the DARPA Second Spectrum Collaboration Challenge (SC2). The focus is mainly on presenting the architecture and the supported interactions between the different ...

Information Sharing in Spectrum Auction for Dynamic Spectrum Access
GLOBECOM 2009 - 2009 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2009Spectrum under-utilization is one of the bottlenecks of the development of wireless communication, and Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) is envisioned as a novel mechanism to solve the problem of spectrum scarcity. Spectrum Auction has been recognized as an effective way to achieve DSA, wherein the primary spectrum owner (PO) acts as an auctioneer who has ...

Incentivizing spectrum sensing in database-driven dynamic spectrum sharing
IEEE INFOCOM 2016 - The 35th Annual IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications, 2016The legacy concept of exclusion zones (EZs) is inept at enabling efficient utilization of fallow spectrum by secondary users (SUs), since legacy EZs are static and overly-conservative. The notion of a static EZ implies that it has to protect incumbent users (IUs) from the union of likely interference scenarios, leading to a worst-case, conservative ...

Distributed Interference Cancellation for Dynamic Spectrum Sharing
2008 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2008This paper proposes a novel interference cancellation technique using the concept of a distributed array, for the secondary use of the frequency resources in frequency division duplexing (FDD)-based cellular systems. In order to achieve efficient distributed interference cancellation, the secondary system exploit intervals for periodic training signals

Cooperative Caching in Dynamic Shared Spectrum Networks
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2016This paper considers co-operation between primary and secondary users in shared spectrum radio networks via caching. We first consider a network with one channel shared between a single macro (primary) base station and multiple micro (secondary) base stations.

XG Dynamic Spectrum Sharing Field Test Results
2007 2nd IEEE International Symposium on New Frontiers in Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks, 2007This paper describes the results of field testing of the XG Radio system. In August 2006, the XG Radio system was field tested at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia, in the laboratory, and at field locations in Northern Virginia. The XG Radio system uses dynamic spectrum sharing technology to determine locally unused spectrum, and then operates on these channels

Dynamic spectrum sharing in hybrid satellite–terrestrial systems
2018The focus of this chapter is on dynamic spectrum sharing in hybrid satellite-terrestrial systems. We start by classifying the scenarios for those systems. The most important dynamic spectrum sharing techniques such as spectrum sensing, databases, beamforming, beam hopping, and adaptive frequency and power allocation are discussed and their ...
