Dynamic Spectrum Sharing Detectors

2007 2nd IEEE International Symposium on New Frontiers in Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks, 2007
Dynamic frequency sharing provides a mean to more efficiently allocate frequency spectrum. For this to be accomplished the ambient spectrum has to be sensed and characterized. This paper presents how energy detection can be used to differentiate signals from noise for various operating environments.

Incentivizing spectrum sensing in database-driven dynamic spectrum sharing

IEEE INFOCOM 2016 - The 35th Annual IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications, 2016
The legacy concept of exclusion zones (EZs) is inept at enabling efficient utilization of fallow spectrum by secondary users (SUs), since legacy EZs are static and overly-conservative. The notion of a static EZ implies that it has to protect incumbent users (IUs) from the union of likely interference scenarios, leading to a worst-case, conservative ...

On sellers' quantity games for dynamic spectrum sharing

2013 9th International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC), 2013
The concept of cognitive radio (CR) technology is emerging as a new paradigm for designing next generation wireless networks with dynamic spectrum sharing. Game theory is one of key mathematical tools to model and analyze the spectrum sharing process.

Distributed Interference Cancellation for Dynamic Spectrum Sharing

2008 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2008
This paper proposes a novel interference cancellation technique using the concept of a distributed array, for the secondary use of the frequency resources in frequency division duplexing (FDD)-based cellular systems. In order to achieve efficient distributed interference cancellation, the secondary system exploit intervals for periodic training signals

Dynamic Cooperative Spectrum Sharing in Elastic Networks

Optical Fiber Communication Conference/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference 2013, 2013
Spectrum expansion, contraction, and re-allocation policies are proposed for flexible networks. Reductions in blocking probability can be achieved by introducing “neighbor avoidance” mechanisms. Trade-offs between blocking probability and the number of re-allocated connections are quantified.

Dynamic Spectrum Sharing with Multiple Primary and Secondary Users

2010 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2010
Dynamic spectrum sharing in cognitive radio networks can enhance flexibility, and as a result the efficiency of spectrum usage. In this paper, we address the problem of spectrum sharing in a cognitive radio network where multiple primary and secondary strategic-users are involved.

A Deep Q-Learning Dynamic Spectrum Sharing Experiment

ICC 2021 - IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2021
We report results of an experiment in applying deep Q-learning for dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) in the Alleys of Austin scenario from the DARPA Spectrum Collaboration Challenge. This scenario mimics mobile operations in an urban environment by up to five squads (teams) of soldiers. Each team operates its own wireless network.

A dynamic spectrum access MAC protocol based on spectrum analysis and spectrum sharing

2012 XXXVIII Conferencia Latinoamericana En Informatica (CLEI), 2012
The radio spectrum is a finite resource and the current spectrum licensing model has led to a fenomenon known as spectrum scarcity. Several approaches have been presented in order to improve the effectiveness of spectrum utilization. This works main contribution is is to present an approach to opportunistic spectrum sensing and allocation focused on ...

Cooperative Caching in Dynamic Shared Spectrum Networks

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2016
This paper considers co-operation between primary and secondary users in shared spectrum radio networks via caching. We first consider a network with one channel shared between a single macro (primary) base station and multiple micro (secondary) base stations.
