Investigation of dynamic loads on the crank mechanism of a truck

In this work, a one-dimensional model of the crank and gas distribution mechanisms of a diesel engine has been developed and verified, taking into account the mass of parts and inertial forces. Simulation of their joint operation at different engine speeds has been carried out. The data on the dynamic loads on the crankshaft and camshafts were obtained.

Abstract The problem of a planar slider-crank mechanism with clearance at the sliding (prismatic) joint is investigated. In this study the influence of the clearance gap size, bearing friction, crank speed and impact parameters on the response of the system are investigated.
