Nonlinear Dynamic Response of Elastic Slider-Crank Mechanism

Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1971
An investigation of the vibratory bending response of the elastic connecting rod of a slider-crank mechanism is presented. The response of the system is found to be dependent upon five dimensionless parameters. These are classified as the length, mass, damping, external piston force, and frequency parameters; and the effects of these parameters on the ...

The dynamics of the harmonic space slider-crank mechanism

Journal of Mechanisms, 1966
Abstract This paper deals with the distribution of mass in the links of the simple harmonic space slider-crank mechanism to achieve the desirable features of inertia balance and constancy of total kinetic energy during the cycle.

Dynamic synthesis of a planar slider–crank mechanism with clearances

Nonlinear Dynamics, 2014
In practice, clearances in the joints are inevitable due to tolerances, and defects arising from design and manufacturing. It is noteworthy that in the presence of clearance at a joint, a mechanism gains some additional, uncontrollable degrees of freedom which are the source of error.

Dynamics of the slider-crank mechanism with clearance in the sliding bearing

Mechanism and Machine Theory, 1974
Abstract A method of predicting the detailed motion of the slider of a slider crank mechanism within slider-guide clearance is given. The effects of changing the geometry and the mass distribution are presented, and the analysis, which includes the effects of gas loads on the slider, is applied to the motion of a piston in a diesel engine.

Synthesis of a slider-crank mechanism with consideration of dynamic effects

Journal of Mechanisms, 1970
Abstract A method of dynamic synthesis of a slider-crank mechanism to meet specified velocity conditions at three design points including the inertia effects of the masses of the main links is presented. Velocity specifications are developed assuming a constant velocity of the input crank.

Experimental analysis of dynamics of inverted slider-crank mechanism

2022
Makinalarda temel tahrik mekanizmalarından biri olan kol-kızak mekanizması, dönme hareketini kayar uzuv vasıtasıyla çıkış uzvuna aktararak, çıkış uzvunun sarkaç hareketi yapmasını sağlamaktadır. Bu durum mekanizmada ani yön değişimine ve yüksek hız dalgalanmasına yol açmaktadır Bu çalışmada kol-kızak mekanizmasının hareket denkleminin çözümünden elde ...

Dynamics of Slider-Crank Mechanisms with Flexible Supports and Non-Ideal Forcing

Nonlinear Dynamics, 2004
Transient and steady state dynamic response of a class of slider-crank mechanisms is investigated. Specifically, the class of mechanisms examined involves rigid members but compliant supporting bearings. Moreover, the mechanisms are subjected to non-ideal forcing.

Dynamic Modeling of a Slider-Crank Mechanism Under Joint Wear

Volume 2: 32nd Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, Parts A and B, 2008
A study of how joint wear affects the kinematics of a simple slider-crank mechanism and in turn how change in kinematics of the mechanism affects the joint wear is presented. The coupling between joint wear and system kinematics is modeled by integrating a wear prediction process, built upon a widely used finite-element-based iterative scheme, with the

Crossing and Veering Phenomena in Crank Mechanism Dynamics

Modal analysis is widely used both on single components and mechanical complex assemblies and it is recognized to be a fundamental step on the functional design process. From experimental point of view, a change in a system parameter due to the need of describing a different assembly configuration, can require iterative measurements, and can be quite ...
