Modeling of Dynamics of Nonideal Mixer at Oscillation and Aperiodic Damped Mode of Driving Member Motion

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The dynamics of the vibrational mode of motion of the driving member of a nonideal system, a mixing–whipping device based on a simple slide-crank mechanism, was studied. The highly nonlinear differential equations of motion were solved numerically by the

Dynamics Research of rigid-flexible model of crank-rocker mechanism with Multi Clearance

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
This paper takes the crank-rocker mechanism as the research object, purposed for the simulation of the motion pair with clearance utilizing the contact force model and the coulomb friction model, we build the virtual prototype of four-bar mechanism with ...

Topological Point Defects in SmC* Liquid Crystals Under Mechanical Disturbance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Tangetial air jet shear inducess island formation and nucleates topological point defects in uniform SmC films. Island bounded by edge dislocation loops shrink and transform into isolated point defects under continued shear. Mechanical perturbatio provides a controllable route for defect engineering in smectric liquid crystal thin films.

Ductility Tuning via Cluster Network Characteristics of Porous Components

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Network optimization via cluster characteristics induced by interaction of stress concentration is proposed, demonstrating increased cluster size and dispersion in non‐uniform porous components. The optimized structures exhibit, for the first time, that enhanced ductility and damage progression is controllable through zigzag cluster network designed by

Modeling the Structure and Complexity of Engineering Routine Design Problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper proposes a model to structure routine design problems as well as a model of its design complexity. The idea is that having a proper model of the structure of such problems enables understanding its complexity, and likewise, a proper ...

Front propagation in reaction-diffusion systems with anomalous diffusion

open access: yes, 2014
A numerical study of the role of anomalous diffusion in front propagation in reaction-diffusion systems is presented. Three models of anomalous diffusion are considered: fractional diffusion, tempered fractional diffusion, and a model that combines ...

A Dynamic Analysis of the Plane Crank-and-Rocker Mechanisms with Clearances

open access: yesBulletin of JSME, 1980
The equations of motion of the plane four-bar mechanisms have been derived for all of possible numbers and positions of clearance-connections except the input-shaft position when the mechanisms rotate at constant speeds in a vertical plane. Applying the equations to a crank-and-rocker mechanism, the effects of the numbers and positions of clearance ...

Dynamic analysis and controller design for a slider–crank mechanism with piezoelectric actuators

open access: yesJournal of Computational Design and Engineering, 2016
Abstract Dynamic behaviour of a slider–crank mechanism associated with a smart flexible connecting rod is investigated. Effect of various mechanisms' parameters including crank length, flexibility of the connecting rod and the slider's mass on the dynamic behaviour is studied.
