Autosomal Dominant Hyper‐IgE Syndrome Patients Retain IL10‐Producing preTh17‐Cells That Are Activated by Opportunistic Pathogens and Support IgE Production

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
IL‐10 producing CCR6+Th‐cells are central memory T‐cells that express ROR‐γt and differentiate to Th17‐cells via an autocrine loop of STAT3‐activating cytokines (preTh17). STAT3‐deficient AD‐HIES patients lack Th17‐ and Tfh17‐cells but retain preTh17‐ and Th1/17‐cells.

GNA14 may be a potential prognostic biomarker in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundNasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a highly invasive malignant tumor. Recurrence and distant metastasis represent the primary causes of treatment failure.

Lab-on-a-chip and integrated strategies in tumor immunotheraphy

open access: yes, 2011
Background While conventional chemotherapy and radiation therapy have improved the survival of many cancer patients, there are still major disadvantages associated with these treatments such as high toxicity and drug-resistance.

Possible interaction between tobacco use and EBV in oral squamous cell carcinoma (Letter)

open access: yes, 2016
Epstein–Barr virus (EBV), a gamma-1 herpesvirus, has tropism for B lymphocytes and epithelial cells of the upper aerodigestive tract. Despite most adults being asymptomatic carriers of an EBV infection obtained during adolescence, in some individuals EBV

Clinical Burden of Symptomatic HEV‐3 Infection in Southern Spain

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Clinical burden of symptomatic HEV‐3 infection in southern Spain. Between 2022 and 2025, 1124 patients with acute hepatitis, defined as ALT ≥ 3 times the upper limit of normal and negative screening for HAV, HBV, HCV, EBV and CMV, were evaluated in Andalusia.

Clinical features and prognostic factors of adult systemic chronic active EBV disease: A retrospective analysis in Japan

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ALT and ferritin were adverse prognostic markers enabling risk stratification in adult systemic chronic active Epstein–Barr virus disease (sCAEBV). In hydroa vacciniforme lymphoproliferative disorder (HV‐LPD), Epstein–Barr virus (EBV) infection of CD4+ cells was associated with progression to sCAEBV.

Optical genome mapping improves detection and characterisation of cytogenetic abnormalities in non‐Hodgkin lymphomas

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Optical genome mapping (OGM) is feasible on fresh and frozen tissue lymphoma samples and demonstrated its added value for accurate diagnostic classification. OGM surpasses karyotype and FISH in refining diagnoses of lymphoma, identifying class‐defining rearrangements along with prognostic markers.

Suppression of Epstein-Barr virus infection in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells through CRISPR/Cas9 targeting of EBNA1, OriP and W repeats

open access: yes, 2016
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infects more than 90 % of the world's adult population. Persistent infection with EBV is strongly associated with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), the incidence of which is geographically restricted and particularly high in ...
