Endocrine therapy‐induced cancer‐related fatigue in hormone‐dependent malignancies: Mechanisms, impact, and management strategies

open access: yesPrecision Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
Multipathway schematic of endocrine therapy–induced cancer‐related fatigue. Endocrine interventions trigger four interacting mechanisms—neuroendocrine dysregulation, systemic inflammation, energy‐metabolic failure, and psycho‐behavioral amplification—that culminate in the multidimensional CRF phenotype.

Scale dependence in remotely sensed biodiversity: Leveraging continental‐scale imaging spectroscopy from the National Ecological Observatory Network

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Imaging spectroscopy enables large‐scale biodiversity assessment, yet spectral diversity metrics are scale dependent. Across 15 NEON ecosystems, we find that spectral richness increases sub‐linearly from 3600 m2 to 4 km2, whereas spectral divergence shows weak or inconsistent scaling with area, underscoring the importance of scale‐aware interpretation ...

Scalable low‐cost seabed landers: the missing link for sustained, integrated, long‐term observations in dynamic shallow seas

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Seabed landers, when equipped with a range of biotic and abiotic sensors, offer a non‐invasive and cost‐effective solution for ecosystem‐scale monitoring of Essential Biodiversity Variables (EBVs) and Essential Ocean Variables (EOVs) in dynamic shallow seas.

Ground‐based robotic remote sensing for standardized biodiversity monitoring in coastal habitats

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
Illustrated workflow of the proposed citizen‐to‐robot monitoring pipeline: (i) expert‐validated citizen observations are translated into AI models, (ii) deployed on a ground‐based robotic platform for proximal sensing of coastal dune habitats, (iii) enabling standardized detection of ecological targets (e.g., Pancratium maritimum & Brithys crini), and (

A Comparison of Mobile Laser Scanning Data Acquisition Methods in Closed Forest, Open Woodland and Sub‐Alpine Woodland Ecosystems

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that the mobile laser scanning (MLS) sampling density required to reliably characterise vegetation structure increases with a site's structural complexity. Applying a five‐level acquisition framework across open woodland, closed forest and sub‐alpine woodland ecosystems, we found that longer scanning paths increased the ...

Control of the EBV growth transformation programme: the importance of the Bamhi W repeats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), a human gammaherpesvirus, possesses a unique set of latent genes whose constitutive expression in B cells leads to cell growth transformation.
