PD‐L1‐Binding Antigen Presenters: Redirecting Vaccine‐Induced Antibodies for Cancer Immunotherapy
Advanced Science, EarlyView.The PBAP‐gE complex anchors gE antigen to PD‐L1 on tumor cells. Vaccine‐induced anti‐gE antibodies simultaneously engage FcγRIIIa on NK cells and tumor‐bound PBAP‐gE, triggering NK cell activation and antibody‐dependent cellular cytotoxicity, thereby selectively eliminating PD‐L1–expressing tumor cells.

Mediterranean Journal of Hematology and Infectious Diseases, 2009 Up to 40% of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) cases are associated with the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Clonal viral genomes can be found in the HL tumor cells, the Hodgkin Reed-Sternberg cells (HRS). The latent infection results in expression of the viral oncogenes LMP1 and LMP2A which contribute to generate the particular phenotype of the HRS cells.
