Measurement of xylanase activity with insoluble xylan substrate [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
Insoluble xylan was prepared from ground birch (Betula pubescens) pulp by alkali extraction and precipitation with ethanol. The only sugar detected after acid hydrolysis of the preparation was xylose.

Induction of Hypersensitive Cell Death by a Fungal Protein in Cultures of Tobacco Cells

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 1998
Treatment of suspension-cultured tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum cv. Xanthi) cells (line XD6S) with fungal proteinaceous elicitors, namely, xylanase (EC 3.2.1.8) from Trichoderma viride (TvX) and xylanase from T.

Article 82 EC and access to essential facilities in EC telecommunications:: the interaction between competition rules and sector-specific regulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The liberalization of the EC telecommunications market has, from the beginning, been based on a dual-regime of sector-specific regulation and competition law.

Production, purification and characterization of xylanase using alkalo-thermophilic Bacillus halodurans KR-1 [PDF]

open access: yesIranica Journal of Energy and Environment, 2010
Xylanase (EC. 3.2.1.8) has been isolated from an alkalo-thermophilic bacteria, Bacillus halodurans strain KR-1 isolated from the soil near river bed at Indore. The bacteria secreted xylanase in the growth medium in the presence of xylan.

Safety evaluation of the food enzyme xylanase from a genetically modified Bacillus subtilis strain TD160(229)

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2018
The food enzyme considered in this opinion is an endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase (EC 3.2.1.8) produced with a genetically modified Bacillus subtilis strain from Puratos N.V. (Belgium). The genetic modifications do not raise safety concerns.

The impact of EC-92 on developing countries'trade : a dissenting view [PDF]

open access: yes
Most benefits of the European Community (EC-92) program will probably not come from marginal changes in trade flows. Those changes are important to European policymakers, but are of remote interest to developing countries.

Safety evaluation of the food enzyme endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase from Bacillus subtilis (strain XAS)

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2019
The food enzyme is an endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase (4‐β‐d‐xylan xylanohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.8) produced with the genetically modified Bacillus subtilis strain XAS. Antibiotic resistance genes are present in the production organism on a self‐replicative vector.

Conversion of xylan by recyclable spores of Bacillus subtilis displaying thermophilic enzymes

open access: yesMicrobial Cell Factories, 2017
Background The Bacillus subtilis spore has long been used to display antigens and enzymes. Spore display can be accomplished by a recombinant and a non-recombinant approach, with the latter proved more efficient than the recombinant one.
