Muscle Training by Static, Concentric and Eccentric Contractions

Acta Physiologica Scandinavica, 1960
AbstractIsometric strength of the elbow flexors and the knee extensors was measured by a strain‐gauge dynamometer constructed according to Darcus (1953). The accuracy of this dynamometer was found to be ± 1–3 per cent. Seventeen young female and seventeen young male subjects underwent a training period of from 20 to 36 days.
