The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.

Demographic Processes Allow Echinochloa crus-galli to Compensate Seed Losses by Seed Predation
The effect of weed management that targets the seed stage on subsequent life stages is largely unknown. Post-dispersal seed predation reduces the number of seeds from the soil surface before the seeds contribute to the seedbank.

Efficacy of Exserohilum monoceras, a potential fungi for biocontrol of Echinochloa spesies [PDF]
Indigenous Exserohilum monoceras isolate 1125 was evaluated for its efficacy on different Echinochloa species. Exserohilum monoceras spores, prepared at 103, 104, 105, 106 and 107 spores/ml concentrations and sprayed onto E.

Different responses of Echinochloa crus-galli and Echinochloa colona to Bisbyric-sodium (Nomineetm) [PDF]
Echinochloa crus-galli and Echinochloa colona mostly grown as weeds in different economic crops and cause losses in their yield. Flooding and Crop rotation ca not suppress these weeds. Herbicides are widely applied to control barnyard grasses. Bisbyric-sodium was applied at FRD (Field Recommended Dose) on both species, the results of preliminary ...

Anaerobiosis in Echinochloa crus-galli (Barnyard Grass) Seedlings [PDF]
Tolerance to ethanol and the ability to metabolize key intermediary substrates under anaerobiosis were studied in Echinochloa crus-galli (L.) Beauv. var oryzicola seeds to further characterize the mechanisms which enable it to germinate and grow without O(2).Our results indicate that E. crus-galli var oryzicola possesses an inherently high tolerance to

Ecological Diversity of Summer Maize Weed Species in the Western Mid‐Hills of Nepal
Maize (Zea mays L.) cultivation in the mid‐hills of Nepal is vital for food security but faces significant yield losses due to weed competition. The two‐year (2023–2024) phytosociological study on summer maize was conducted to assess weed diversity and dynamics in randomly selected 40 farmers’ fields of Puranchaur, Dhikidada, Gharmi, and Lamachaur at ...

Adaptive mechanism of Echinochloa crus-galli Beauv. var. formosensis Ohwi under salt stress: Effect of salicylic acid on salt sensitivity [PDF]
Our previous study revealed that salicylic acid (SA) accumulates in salt-stressed rice (Oryza sativa L. cv.Nipponbare) seedlings, and we hypothesized that the accumulation of SA might potentiate oxidativeinjury in rice seedlings since the inhibition of ...
