Outbreak of Echovirus 30 Meningitis in Switzerland
Scandinavian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1999This study includes 80 patients (38 children and 42 adults) who contracted aseptic meningitis in the summer of 1996 in Fribourg, Switzerland. Virological studies revealed an enteroviral infection in 65 out of 70 (93%) investigated patients. In 47 out of the 53 cases (89%) where a precise virus could be identified, the causative agent was an Echovirus ...

Seroepidemiology of echovirus 30 in Korean children
World Journal of Pediatrics, 2017Although aseptic meningitis associated with echovirus type 30 has emerged as a global public health concern, no data have been reported on Children's immune status against echovirus type 30. The current study aimed to investigate the seropositivity among Korean children for antibodies against echovirus 30.Two hundred and fifty residual serum samples ...

Abnormalities of brain perfusion in echovirus type 30 meningitis
Journal of the Neurological Sciences, 2000From May to August 1998 an epidemic of aseptic meningitis (AM) due to echovirus type 30 (E30) occurred in Yamaguchi prefecture, Japan. We performed single-photon emission-computed tomography (SPECT) to evaluate cerebral perfusion during the acute stage in 27 patients with AM due to E30. Moreover, we measured the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) concentrations

Molecular epidemiology of Echovirus 30 in Taiwan, 1988–2008
Virus Genes, 2011To investigate the molecular epidemiology of Taiwanese Echovirus 30 (E-30) strains, we analyzed the 876 bp sequence of the VP1 gene from 32 Taiwanese strains isolated in 1988-2008, 498 reference sequences, and one Echovirus 21 strain as the out-group.

SummaryAn antigenic analysis was made of echovirus 30 and coxsackievirus B4 isolates by determining neutralization rate constants in neutralization kinetic tests. The seven echovirus 30 isolates included the prototype strain and six others isolated in Melbourne, Australia, between 1959 and 1982.

Acute flaccid paralysis due to Echovirus 30 in an immunosuppressed transplant recipient
Journal of NeuroVirology, 2019An Italian 13-year-old boy immunosuppressed due to kidney transplant presented in November 2018 with acute flaccid paralysis with anterior horn cell involvement resembling the clinical, radiological, and laboratory features of poliomyelitis. Enterovirus was molecularly identified in cerebral spinal fluid and stool samples and the sequence analysis of ...
