Mononuclear Cells and Cytokines in the Cerebrospinal Fluid of Echovirus 30 Meningitis Patients
Scandinavian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2000The local immune response to echovirus 30 meningitis in children was investigated in 2 ways: using flow cytometry to examine the mononuclear cell and lymphocyte subsets and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays to examine the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) levels of cytokines, including monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), interferon gamma (IFN-gamma ...

[Outbreak of meningitis caused by echovirus type 30].
Anales espanoles de pediatria, 1997In the cold months of 1994-1995, we detected in our hospital an epidemic outbreak of acute enteroviral meningitis caused by echovirus type 30 (Echo 30). Until now, these outbreaks of viral epidemics had not been detected in Spain. We reviewed retrospectively 46 clinical histories of patients who were admitted to our hospital between September 1994 and ...

[PCR SSCP study of an echovirus 30 meningitis outbreak].
Pathologie-biologie, 1999Between April and October 1997, 21 children of 4 days to 13 years old were admitted to the Pedatric Unit of Aulnay Sous Bois's Hospital for viral meningitidis. The number of white blood cells in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) was between 1 and 612 cells/mm3, with, on an average, 56% of segmented cells, 34% lymphocytes and 34% monocytes.

Echovirus 30 in Croatia during 2010-2019
The enterovirus (EV) genus members from the Picornaviridae family are common etiological agents for a wide spectrum of infections, including neuroinvasive ones. Almost all Echoviruses, including Echovirus 30 (E30), belong to the species EV B. Here we report an analysis of epidemiology and molecular characteristics of E30 stains detected in Croatia, as ...Kolarić, Branko +5 more
