Study of the spectral properties of ELM precursors by means of wavelets [PDF]
The high confinement regime (H-mode) in tokamaks is accompanied by the occurrence of bursts of MHD activity at the plasma edge, so-called edge localized modes (ELMs), lasting less than 1 ms.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

According to recent DIII-D experiments (Logan et al 2024 Nucl. Fusion 64 014003), injecting edge localized electron cyclotron current drive (ECCD) in the counter-plasma-current (counter- I _p ) direction reduces the n = 3 resonant magnetic perturbation ...

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tunneling into a periodically modulated Luttinger liquid
We study the tunneling into the edge of the Luttinger liquid with periodically modulated concentration of electrons. It is shown that the modulation,by causing a gap in the spectrum of plasmons, leads to an additional anomaly in the density of states at ...

Isochronism and tangent bifurcation of band edge modes in Hamiltonian lattices [PDF]
In {\em Physica D} {\bf 91}, 223 (1996), results were obtained regarding the tangent bifurcation of the band edge modes ($q=0,\pi$) of nonlinear Hamiltonian lattices made of $N$ coupled oscillators.

Advanced operation modes relying on core plasma turbulence stabilization in tokamak fusion devices
Recent progress of advanced operation modes in tokamaks is addressed focusing upon internal transport barrier (ITB) discharges. These ITB discharges are being considered as one of candidate operation modes in fusion reactors.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

We present results from three-dimensional ideal magnetohydrodynamic simulations of unmagnetized dense plasma jet injection into a uniform hot strongly magnetized plasma, with the aim of providing insight into core fueling of a tokamak with parameters ...
