ScAlN/AlN Film-Based Lamé Mode Resonator With High Effective Electromechanical Coupling Coefficient
Journal of Microelectromechanical Systems, 2021The effective electromechanical coupling coefficient ( ${K}_{eff}^{2}{)}$ of resonators is crucial for application in radio communication such as fabricating bandpass filters. In this letter, we present a $0^{\text {th}}$ symmetry ( ${S}_{0}{)}$ mode Lame mode resonator (LMR) operating at 2.563 GHz with a high ${K}_{\vphantom {D_{j}}{

AbstractThe electromechanical coupling coefficient k can be determined by measuring the frequency characteristics of admittance. However, it is known that the specimen shape affects the measurement of the admittance frequency characteristics. In this paper, the finite element method was employed to investigate the effects of sample electrode ...

On the optimizing of the effective electromechanical coupling coefficients of piezoceramic bodies
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1998The effective electromechanical coupling coefficients are defined based on the expression for internal energy of a piezoceramic body. By means of this definition, conditions are obtained under which an effective coupling coefficient for any given deformation distribution can be maximized and shown to be equal to a corresponding coupling coefficient of ...

The extraordinary case of increase in velocity of surface acoustic waves (SAW) caused by electrical shorting of the surface of the superstrong piezoelectric crystal potassium niobate, KNbO3, is numerically found. The explanation of this effect is based on considering SAWs as coupled Rayleigh and Bleustein-Gulyaev modes.

Effect of kerf filler on the electromechanical coupling coefficient of 1–3 piezoelectric composites
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2015Abstract A unified formula has been derived to quantitatively describe the electromechanical coupling factor for the thickness mode of 1–3 piezoelectric composites with rectangular rod. The effect of different kerf filler on the electromechanical coupling factor is analyzed by varying the aspect ratio of piezoelectric rod and the elastic stiffness of

Damage indication in smart structures using modal effective electromechanical coupling coefficients
Smart Materials and Structures, 2008This work explores the use, in structural health monitoring, of the so-called modal effective electromechanical coupling coefficient (EMCC) as a damage indicator for structures with failures such as cracks. For this purpose, a discrete layered finite element (FE) model for smart beams is proposed and applied to short-circuit (SC) and open-circuit (OC ...
