A mesocosm experiment investigating the effects of substratum quality and wave exposure on the survival of fish eggs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In a mesocosm experiment, the attachment of bream (Abramis brama) eggs to spawning substrata with and without periphytic biofilm coverage and their subsequent survival with and without low-intensity wave exposure were investigated.

Gene Analysis of Listeria monocytogenes Suspended Aggregates Induced by Ralstonia insidiosa Cell-Free Supernatants under Nutrient-Poor Environments

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2021
Listeria monocytogenes is a zoonotic food-borne pathogen. The production of food-borne pathogenic bacteria aggregates is considered to be a way to improve their resistance and persistence in the food chain. Ralstonia insidiosa has been shown to induce L.

Transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses to study the key role by which Ralstonia insidiosa induces Listeria monocytogenes to form suspended aggregates

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2023
Ralstonia insidiosa can survive in a wide range of aqueous environments, including food processing areas, and is harmful to humans. It can induce Listeria monocytogenes to form suspended aggregates, resulting from the co-aggregation of two bacteria ...

The extraction of the new components from electrogastrogram (EGG), using both adaptive filtering and electrocardiographic (ECG) derived respiration signal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Electrogastrographic examination (EGG) is a noninvasive method for an investigation of a stomach slow wave propagation. The typical range of frequency for EGG signal is from 0.015 to 0.15 Hz or (0.015–0.3 Hz) and the signal usually is captured with ...

Research Note: Comparison of water-soluble metabolites in egg yolk, yolk granules, and yolk plasma based on quantitative metabolomic analysis

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2023
: Egg yolk (EY) can be divided into yolk granules (EYG) and yolk plasma (EYP) after water dilution and centrifugation. EYP had a significantly higher lipid content and is predominantly in the form of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) while EYG has a higher ...

Ultrasound-assisted pH-shifting remodels egg-yolk low-density lipoprotein to enable construction of a stable aqueous solution of vitamin D3

open access: yesCurrent Research in Food Science, 2022
Egg-yolk low-density lipoprotein (LDL) has a natural liposome structure. Using ultrasound-assisted pH-shifting (pH 12), a naturally safe and stable aqueous solution of vitamin D3 (VD3) was constructed employing LDL as the carrier.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.
