Electrode Materials in Microfluidic Systems for the Processing and Separation of DNA: A Mini Review

open access: yesMicromachines, 2017
Since the advent of genetic analysis, electrode materials have played an irreplaceable role due to the easily-exploitable negatively-charged backbone of the DNA structure.

Rationalizing Structural Hierarchy in the Design of Fuel Cell Electrode and Electrolyte Materials Derived from Metal-Organic Frameworks

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are arguably a class of highly tuneable polymer-based materials with wide applicability. The arrangement of chemical components and the bonds they form through specific chemical bond associations are critical determining ...

Chronoamperometry at Channel Electrodes: Theory of Double Electrodes

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry, 1994
A theoretical treatment is presented which permits the computation of transient effects at double-channel electrodes. In particular, the current response of a downstream «detector» electrode to a potential step at an upstream «generator» electrode is established, and it is shown that such experiments can provide unique information both about the ...

Home‐Based Tele‐tDCS in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis: Feasibility, Safety, and Preliminary Efficacy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease with limited treatment options. Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) shows promise as a neuromodulatory intervention in various neurological disorders, but its application in ALS, particularly in a remote, home‐based format, remains underexplored.

Subthalamic Nucleus Oscillatory Characteristics in Meige, Cervical Dystonia and Generalized Dystonia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Deep brain stimulation offers a unique opportunity to record neural activity of the basal ganglia. While much work in dystonia has focused on the globus pallidus internus, expanding research to investigate subthalamic nucleus (STN) activity in various dystonia types is critical to provide a comprehensive understanding of dystonia ...

Electrical safety in spinal cord stimulation: current density analysis by computer modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The possibility of tissue damage in spinal cord stimulation was investigated in a computer modeling study. A decrease of the electrode area in monopolar stimulation resulted in an increase of the current density at the electrode surface.

Design and numerical simulation of thermionic electron gun [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
This paper reports the simulation of an electron gun. The effects of some parameters on the beam quality were studied and optimal choices were identified. It gives numerical beam qualities in common electrostatic triode gun, and the dependences on design parameters such as electrode geometries and bias voltages to these electrodes are shown.

Characterization of a modular flow cell system for electrocatalytic experiments and comparison to a commercial RRDE system [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Generator-collector experiments offer insights into the mechanisms of electrochemical reactions by correlating the product and generator currents. Most commonly, these experiments are performed using a rotating ring-disk electrode (RRDE). We developed a double electrode flow cell (DEFC) with exchangeable generator and detector electrodes where the ...
