Impact of dose rate on accuracy of intensity modulated radiation therapy plan delivery using the pretreatment portal dosimetry quality assurance and setting up the workflow at hospital levels

open access: yesJournal of Medical Physics, 2015
The aim of this study was to examine the impact of dose rate on accuracy of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) plan delivery by comparing the gamma agreement between the calculated and measured portal doses by pretreatment quality assurance (QA)

Evaluation of an Electronic Portal Imaging Device for Transit Dosimetry [PDF]

open access: yesActa Oncologica, 1999
The possibility of using a commercially available electronic portal imaging device for transit dosimetry was investigated. The detection unit of the device comprises a metal plate/fluorescence screen and a camera. Basic parameters of this system were investigated: stability, detector uniformity, dose-response curve, field-size dependence and phantom ...

Creating A Dynamic, Multi-Purpose Correction for Multiple Geometries and Field Sizes to Account for Off-Axis and Asymmetric Backscatter With Varian Portal Dosimetry

open access: yes, 2016
Intensity modulated radiation therapy and volumetric modulated arc therapy are increasingly common in radiation therapy due to their benefits of target conformity and normal tissue sparing.

Assessment of three-dimensional set-up errors in conventional head and neck radiotherapy using electronic portal imaging device

open access: yesRadiation Oncology, 2007
Background Set-up errors are an inherent part of radiation treatment process. Coverage of target volume is a direct function of set-up margins, which should be optimized to prevent inadvertent irradiation of adjacent normal tissues. The aim of this study

A systematic review of methods to immobilise breast tissue during adjuvant breast irradiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Greater use of 3D conformal, Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) and external beam partial breast irradiation following local excision (LE) for breast cancer has necessitated a review of the effectiveness of immobilisation methods to stabilise breast

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Small field measurements using electronic portal imaging device

open access: yesBiomedical Physics & Engineering Express
Abstract Purpose/Objective. Small-field measurement poses challenges. Although many high-resolution detectors are commercially available, the EPID for small-field dosimetry remains underexplored. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of EPID for small-field measurements and to derive tailored correction factors ...

Electronic Portal Imaging Device (EPID) Portal Image Filtering for Simplifying Registration on Radiation Therapy

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Radiological Technology, 2012
A simple method for improving the quality of electronic portal imaging device (EPID) portal images was proposed for the reduction of the burden on the registration between digital reconstruction radiography (DRR) and EPID portal images in radiation therapy.
