A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

HiTRACE-Web: an online tool for robust analysis of high-throughput capillary electrophoresis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
To facilitate the analysis of large-scale high-throughput capillary electrophoresis data, we previously proposed a suite of efficient analysis software named HiTRACE (High Throughput Robust Analysis of Capillary Electrophoresis).

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

EGFR‐STAT3 activation provides a therapeutic rationale for targeting aggressive ETV1‐positive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cotargeting EGFR and STAT3 with Erlotinib and TTI‐101 impairs both 2D and 3D growth of ETV1‐overexpressing prostate cancer cells by disrupting a self‐sustaining ETV1–EGFR positive feedback loop that promotes EGFR and STAT3 expression and phosphorylation (activation).

Comparison of the ζ-potential measuring methods accuracy for the colloidal particles [PDF]

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов, 2018
The study is devoted to the choice of an optimal method for determining the ζ-potential of colloidal SiO2 particles. The electrokinetic potential was measured using two methods: (i) acoustic and electro-acoustic spectroscopy; (ii) horizontal agarose gel ...
