Near‐Infrared Organic Photovoltaic Electrodes for Subretinal Neurostimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Organic photovoltaic electrodes based on the D18:Y6 blend enable precise and light‐controlled activation of retinal ganglion cells in a degenerating retina. NIR Light‐driven activation of retinal ganglion cells, tunable stimulation parameters, and biocompatibility with human retinal organoids highlight their potential for next‐generation prosthetics ...

Testis electroporation coupled with autophagy inhibitor to treat non-obstructive azoospermia

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Nucleic Acids, 2022
Infertility affects 10%–20% of the population in most countries, with approximately half of those cases resulting from male infertility. Although millions of infertile men are able to have children with the assistance of reproductive technology ...

Cell-Penetrating Peptides, Electroporation, and Drug Delivery

open access: yes, 2010
Certain short polycations, such as TAT and oligoarginine, rapidly pass through the plasma membranes of mammalian cells by a mechanism called transduction, as well as by endocytosis and macropinocytosis.

Self‐Powered Permeable Electronic Dressing for Exudate Management, Electrostimulation and Drug Delivery in Chronic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops a self‐powered permeable electronic dressing (SPED) that synergistically integrates exudate management, electrical stimulation, and on‐demand drug delivery. The dressing effectively absorbs exudate while demonstrating potent antibacterial activity and accelerated tissue regeneration in diabetic mouse models, thereby promoting ...

Activation of Ras-ERK pathway by Fgf8 and its downregulation by Sprouty2 for the isthmus organizing activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In the previous studies, we showed that strong Fgf8 signaling activates the Ras-ERK pathway to induce cerebellum. Here, we show importance of negative regulation of this pathway.

Poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) Nanoparticles for IL‐12 Self‐Amplifying RNA Delivery in Glioblastoma Models

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
xxxx. ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM) remains one of the most lethal brain cancers, with median survival rarely exceeding 15 months after diagnosis. Interleukin‐12 (IL‐12) is a potent immunostimulatory cytokine capable of reshaping the tumor microenvironment (TME), yet its clinical translation is hindered by systemic toxicity and short half‐life. RNA‐based

The Quality of Ornamental Japanese Carp (Cyprinus carpio var. Koi) After Electroporation as a Gene Material Transfer Method

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Life Science, 2016
Spermatozoa are male gametes that have an advantage in acting as gene transfer media (SMGT), because in transferring genetic material, sperm uses relatively natural vectors.

Unraveling the Heterogeneity of Cargo Distribution in the Exogenous Association of Proteins With Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We characterized the distribution of cargo proteins associated with extracellular vesicles using various exogenous loading methods. In all cases, single‐particle analysis revealed that the distribution of protein content per EV is heterogeneous, following an exponential decay function.

Numerical analysis of cell membrane perforation in on-chip microdroplet-based electroporation (Membrane perforation characteristics when electrodes are placed on the same plane)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2021
On-chip microdroplet-based electroporation is a newly developed process that enables droplet electroporation in a microfluidic device. If the process is to be realized at low cost, the electrode pair should be installed on the same plane.
