Anticonvulsant effects of thymoquinone, the major component of Nigella sativa seeds in mice
The anticonvulsant effect of thymoquinone, the major component of nigella sativa seeds, were investigated using pentylenetetrazole (PTZ) and Maximal electroshock test (MES), as petit mal and grand mal epilepsy models in mice, respectively.

Do endogenous opioids and nitric oxide participate in the anticonvulsant action of dipyrone?
It was previously reported that systemic administration of dipyrone inhibited the tonic component of generalized tonic-clonic seizures in both the electroshock and the audiogenic seizure models.

Abstract The study of morphological evolution is fundamentally tied to ontogeny, yet studies of these heterochronic processes in the fossil record are rare. Fossils belonging to an ontogenetic series are difficult to assign to an ontogenetic stage due to inconsistent proxies for skeletal ages, challenging to taxonomically assign due to morphological ...

Redescription of the Triassic cynodont Cistecynodon parvus and reassessment of its phylogeny
Abstract Cynodontia is an important subclade of Therapsida that first occurred in the late Permian. It includes extinct subclades which are the non‐mammaliaform cynodonts and Mammaliaformes, with the latter ultimately giving rise to crown mammals. The systematics of non‐mammaliaform cynodonts has been extensively studied and is relatively well‐resolved,

Anticonvulsant activity of bioflavonoid gossypin [PDF]
The anticonvulsant activity of gossypin was investigated by studying the effects on seizures induced by pentelentetrazole, strychnine and maximal electroshock convulsive methods in mice.

Abstract Prozostrodon brasiliensis, a probainognathian cynodont of the clade Prozostrodontia, is recognized as a key taxon for understanding the origin of Mammaliaformes and mammals. Despite detailed investigations of its cranial anatomy, the postcranial skeleton has received comparatively less attention.

Abstract Human body prosection practices are a crucial educational tool for learning anatomy. However, the first exposure to donors' material can cause anxiety, which may affect students' learning experiences and emotional adjustment. This observational study aimed to analyze anxiety levels (state and trait) before and after a prosection session in ...

ABSTRACT Irritability is a prevalent and impairing feature associated with autism, yet remains poorly understood, particularly in adults. Drawing heavily on insights translated from pediatric and transdiagnostic literatures, we propose that irritability in autistic individuals often reflects a psychophysiological stress or threat response, rooted in a ...
