Abstract The demonstrated light‐initiated addition of radicals formed on an active methylene group to styrene derivatives exhibits a product selectivity influenced by the presence of a protic solvent. Self‐Assembly Engineering of Fullerene‐Like Polyhedra: V60, V66, V72 From {MV5} Pentagonal Second Building Block

A precise self‐assembly of fullerene‐like V60‐MOP constructed from the first discovered polyoxovanadates five‐membered ring V5 units is discovered. In situ modifications are successfully used to insert {MO5} (M = V/Mo) in the center of the V5 ring, resulting in three other isomorphic spherical cages V66‐MOP, V72‐MOP, and V60Mo12‐MOP.

Four neutral rhenium compounds were examined by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry. Acetonitrile solutions of (Ind)Re(CO)3 (Ind = indenyl) and (Cp)Re(CO)3 (Cp = cyclopentadienyl) gave rise to [Re(CO)3(CH3CN)3]+ ions.
