Strain‐Driven Selective Stabilization of Metastable TiO2 Phases
This work presents a strain‐guided approach for selectively stabilizing metastable TiO2 polymorphs using FCC metal substrates. Epitaxial Pt and Ir promote orthorhombic TiO2‐II growth through lattice matching and strain preservation, while polycrystalline substrates lead to rutile formation due to in‐plane strain relaxation.

A bottom‐up way to fabricate precisely engineered micropore solid‐state metal substrate/protein film / evaporated metal structures is shown to be a versatile platform for systematic electron transport measurements. As protein function is preserved and the junctions are thermally stable, down to 10K, such junctions can be useful for bioelectronic ...

Room Temperature Spin‐Dependent Transport in 2D Hofmann‐Type Single‐Layer Network
Room‐temperature magnetoresistance effect in a 2D magnetic Hofmann‐type network has been found using break junction scanning tunneling microscopy technique. A [Pt(CN)4Co]x system is grown on a gold substrate using 4‐mercaptopyridine ligands as anchoring ligands with a magnetic nickel tip. The reversal of the tip magnetization results in the shutdown of

Investigating the Supramolecular Assemblies under the Confinement in Hybrid Mesoporous Silica Films
Different molecular environments can be found in hybrid mesoporous silica films. Ureido moieties form supramolecular assemblies via hydrogen bonds, bond with silanols at the pore interface, or remain separated by surfactant molecules. The relative abundance of these environments can be probed by infrared spectroscopy and controlled by molecular design.
