Asymmetric α‐Alkylation With Activated and Unactivated Electrophiles by a Highly Productive and Recyclable Lewis Acid/Imidazolium Catalyst

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 65, Issue 27, 1 July 2026.
An air‐stable, easily prepared, bifunctional Cu(II)/imidazolium complex enables highly enantioselective α‐alkylation of 1,3‐dicarbonyls with outstanding productivity (TON up to 1740). Highlights include broad electrophile scope spanning π‐activated and nonactivated reagents, stereo‐retentive allylation, simple catalyst synthesis, and efficient catalyst

Engineering a C–N Lyase for Selective Hydroaminations With Sterically Demanding Amines

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 13, 14 July 2026.
An engineered variant of ethylenediamine‐N,N’‐disuccinic acid lyase (EDDS lyase) shows a 600‐fold increase in activity toward sterically demanding bulky amines and efficiently converts large non‐native amines that are entirely unreactive with the wild‐type enzyme.

Practical Enantioselective Approach to 3‐Amino‐2‐Hydroxy Acids and Application to the Synthesis of Natural Products

open access: yesChirality, Volume 38, Issue 7, July 2026.
A practical and straightforward approach to optically active erythro 3‐amino‐2‐hydroxy acids and its application to the enantioselective synthesis of 3‐phenylisoserine and of the marine natural product 3‐amino‐2‐hydroxy‐6‐methylheptanoic acid is reported.

Enantioselective Crystal Growth Induced by Mesoscopic Helical Platforms

open access: yesChirality, Volume 38, Issue 7, July 2026.
Chiral silica nanohelices with controlled handedness (P or M) act as mesoscopic templates that bias the enantioselective outcome of tetraphenylethylene conglomerate crystallization, preferentially nucleating M‐ or P‐enantiomorphic crystals through interfacial chirality transfer. ABSTRACT We report enantioselective crystallization of tetraphenylethylene

Quantitative 2D Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of Complex Mixtures: From General Analytical Homo/Heteronuclear Methods to Intrinsically Quantitative HSQC Approaches

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 7, July 2026.
Quantitative 2D nuclear magnetic resonance methods provide accurate individual analyte concentrations in complex mixtures. This review provides a unified description and comparison of such methods, together with an overview of applications and practical implementation tips. Quantitative 2D nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy has emerged as an
