Role of soluble endoglin in BMP9 signaling
Endoglin (ENG) is a coreceptor of the transforming growth factor-β (TGFβ) family signaling complex, which is highly expressed on endothelial cells and plays a key role in angiogenesis. Its extracellular domain can be cleaved and released into the circulation as soluble ENG (sENG).

ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are central mediators of tumour‐stroma communication, yet the mechanisms governing their biogenesis and functional cargo remain poorly understood. Here, we identify CD133 (Prominin‐1), selectively expressed in basal‐like triple‐negative breast cancer (BL‐TNBC) cells, acts as a key organizer of EV production and ...

Endoglin in HIV-associated preeclamptic placentae
To examine the placental immunoexpression of endoglin (Eng), in HIV-negative and HIV-positive normotensive (N- and N+) and preeclamptic (P- and P+) pregnancies at term, using immunohistochemistry and immunoelectron microscopy.Strong Eng immunoreactivity was observed within endothelial cells, syncytio- and cyto-trophoblast cell populations.

ABSTRACT The prevalence of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) increases during pregnancy and is associated with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), although its clinical impact on birth outcomes remains unclear. We aimed to assess the effect of several OSA criteria and intermittent hypoxia in the third trimester on perinatal outcomes in women with GDM.

Circulating soluble endoglin and placental abruption [PDF]
AbstractObjectiveOur objective was to investigate whether serum concentrations of a novel anti‐angiogenic factor, soluble endoglin (sEng), could predict placental abruption.MethodsIn a nested case–control study of nulliparous pregnancies, we examined levels of sEng in serum collected prospectively from 31 women who later developed placental abruption ...

Endoglin (CD105) and VEGF as potential angiogenic and dissemination markers for colorectal cancer
Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) is an important current problem concerning public health due to its high incidence and mortality. Advances in molecular and cellular knowledge and the detection of new disease biomarkers are very important to improve ...

Abstract figure legend Excessive hypercholesterolaemia during pregnancy impairs maternal endothelial function, which, in turn, drives the development of pre‐eclampsia and may also contribute to the increased risk of later‐life cardiovascular disease in women.

Endoglin physically interacts with ActRIIA and BMPRII.
After transient transfection, the surface proteins of PC3-M cells were crosslinked, cells lysed, immunoprecipitation performed, crosslinking reversed, and Western blot performed. A) ActRIIA coprecipitates with endoglin.
