Ovarian cancer patients with high levels of mortalin protein in their tumors have worse survival. The investigational drug SHetA2 interferes with mortalin's support of mitochondria. The resulting mitochondrial damage causes a process called mitophagy that contributes to how SHetA2 kills cancer cells. Noncancerous cells repair their mitochondria through

BRD4 Signaling Maintains the Differentiated State of β Cells
The comprehensive exploration revealed the critical role of BRD4 in β cells. BRD4 plays a fundamental role in maintaining β cell differentiation because both long‐term and acute BRD4 deficiency result in a reduction in insulin secretion and downregulation of differentiation markers.

Compared with those on the pTi surface, macrophages on the TNTs surface present reduced myosin II contractility, which facilitates the nuclear translocation of the UTX. This reduction decreases the enrichment of the repressive H3K27me3 histone modification at the Abca1 gene locus, which promotes the transcription and protein expression of ABCA1 ...

YTHDC1 Is Essential for Postnatal Liver Development and Homeostasis
This study identifies YTHDC1 as a key regulator of postnatal liver development and disease. Hepatocyte‐specific deletion of Ythdc1 impairs hepatocyte maturation, causing liver injury, contributing to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma.

This study develops a chemigenetic strategy that combines synthetic dyes with genetically encoded fluorescence for high‐fidelity, no‐wash protein imaging. By utilizing FRET between fluorescent proteins and Halo‐tag dyes, this system ensures that only target‐bound dyes fluoresce, effectively suppressing background signals and enhancing the signal‐to ...
