Sawtooth Stabilization by Energetic Trapped Particles [PDF]
Recent experiments involving high-power radio-frequency heating of a tokamak plasma show strong suppression of the sawtooth oscillation. A high-energy trapped-particle population is shown to have a strong stabilizing effect on the internal resistive kink mode. Numerical calculations are in reasonable agreement with experment.

We present a numerical model to investigate the role of the ion mass-charge ratio ( m / q ) in determining the flux of MeV–GeV solar energetic particles (SEPs), released impulsively from a compact source near the Sun at 1 au.

Encapsulins are protein nanocompartments that play an important role in iron storage. In the Myxococcus xanthus encapsulin system, two cargo proteins called EncB and EncC contribute to iron mineralization. Here, we show that EncB and EncC generate iron‐containing minerals with distinct chemical compositions, suggesting that the composition of stored ...

Space Climate and Solar Energetic Particles [PDF]
In this paper, we investigate the effect of solar corona magnetic activities during 11-year periods and energetic particles on global warming. According to atmospheric changes during the past years, the relationship between these two issues should be ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

We report on the annual variation of quiet-time suprathermal ion composition for C through Fe using Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE)/Ultra-Low Energy Isotope Spectrometer data over the energy range 0.3–1.28 MeV nuc ^−1 from 1998 through 2019, covering

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Energetic particle dynamics in Mercury's magnetosphere [PDF]
We investigate the drift paths of energetic particles in Mercury's magnetosphere by tracing their motion through a model magnetic field. Test particle simulations solving the full Lorentz force show a quasi‐trapped energetic particle population that gradient and curvature drift around the planet via “Shabansky” orbits, passing though high latitudes in ...

Distribution, Evolution, and Origin of the Lunar Energetic Particles
Various kinds of energetic particles can directly and continuously interact with the lunar surface since there is no atmosphere and no global magnetic field on the Moon. How energetic particles distribute on the Moon and what are their roles in the space
