Detection of TDP‐43 seeds in CSF of presymptomatic and symptomatic genetic FTD/ALS
Abstract INTRODUCTION Seed amplification assays (SAAs) have shown promising results in detecting misfolded transactive response (TAR) DNA‐binding protein 43 (TDP‐43) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of genetic frontotemporal dementia (FTD). To date, the use of SAA has yet to be evaluated in presymptomatic individuals.

The Risk of Transmission of Genetic Prion Diseases is Greater Than 50%
This study investigated whether transmission ratio distortion (TRD) occurs in inherited prion diseases, specifically familial Creutzfeldt‐Jakob disease (p.E200K variant) and fatal familial insomnia (p.D178N variant), despite the theoretical 50% autosomal dominant inheritance risk.

Abstract INTRODUCTION The emergence, stability, and contributing factors of Alzheimer's disease (AD) gray matter subtypes remain unclear. METHODS We analyzed data from 1323 individuals without a diagnosis of dementia (CDR < 1) with T1w‐MRI and amyloid‐PET, including 622 with longitudinal data (3.66 ± 1.78 years).

A streamlined nanowire‐based approach (ExoAssay) enabled direct, rapid, and cost‐effective isolation of neuronal extracellular vesicles (EVs) from human plasma using multiple antibody‐coated magnetic nanowires. The isolated EVs were characterized using nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), immunoblotting, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM ...

This study shows that human and mouse brains contain a different pool of strains that differentially affect the formation of Aβ and tau aggregates. Moreover, the murine seeds trigger an unresponsiveness microglial state, which causes the loss of plaque microglial coverage and affects the formation of amyloid plaques, leading to more severe neuritic ...

White‐tailed deer habitat use, activity, and attraction to conspecifics is highly variable between sexes and seasons. In this study, we leverage an unprecedented dataset from Wisconsin to illustrate how deer respond to changing physiological and social needs through the course of year.

Emerging Roles of Biomolecular Condensates in Pre‐mRNA 3′ End Processing
Pre‐mRNA 3′ end processing factors can self‐assemble into biomolecular condensates that fine‐tune pre‐mRNA cleavage and polyadenylation, and their misregulation underlies disease. Nuclear speckles and histone locus bodies spatially compartmentalize distinct 3′ end reactions to ensure efficient gene expression control.
