Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Effect of exhaust nozzle configuration on aerodynamic and acoustic performance of an externally blown flap system with a quiet 6:1 bypass ratio engine [PDF]

open access: yes
A highly suppressed TF-34 engine was used to investigate engine and flap interaction noise associated with an externally blown flap STOL powered lift system. Noise, efficiency, and velocity decay characteristics of mixed and separate flow exhaust systems

Molecular cancer prevention: Intercepting disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Oncological practice must evolve, from treating established tumours to proactive cancer interception before clinical manifestation. This will require mechanistic insight into tumour initiation, validated biomarkers of early disease development and redesigned clinical trials, enabling cancer interception to become a core pillar of oncology with the ...

An Adaptive Whole‐Body Control Approach for Dynamic Obstacle Avoidance of Mobile Manipulators for Human‐Centric Smart Manufacturing

open access: yesIET Collaborative Intelligent Manufacturing
In human‐centric smart manufacturing (HCSM), the robot's dynamic obstacle avoidance function is crucial to ensuring human safety. Unlike the static obstacle avoidance of manipulators or mobile robots, the dynamic obstacle avoidance in mobile manipulators

Tip gap size effects on thermal performance of cavity-winglet tips in transonic turbine cascade with endwall motion

open access: yesJournal of the Global Power and Propulsion Society, 2017
The thermal performance of two cavity-winglet tips with endwall motion is investigated in a transonic high pressure turbine cascade, which operates at an engine representative exit Mach number of 1.2 and an exit Reynolds number of 1.7 × 106.

Brownian Carnot engine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The Carnot cycle imposes a fundamental upper limit to the efficiency of a macroscopic motor operating between two thermal baths. However, this bound needs to be reinterpreted at microscopic scales, where molecular bio-motors and some artificial micro ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.
