Nexus: a GPU cluster engine for accelerating DNN-based video analysis

open access: yesSymposium on Operating Systems Principles, 2019
We address the problem of serving Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) efficiently from a cluster of GPUs. In order to realize the promise of very low-cost processing made by accelerators such as GPUs, it is essential to run them at sustained high utilization ...

Flow Mechanism Analysis of Engine Valve Deviation Under Braking Conditions

open access: yesFluids
The valve serves as the actuating component within the valve mechanism. Under braking conditions, the valve is prone to swaying, which significantly compromises the reliability and service life of the engine.

Correlating the Integral Sensing Properties of Zeolites with Molecular Processes by Combining Broadband Impedance and DRIFT Spectroscopy—A New Approach for Bridging the Scales

open access: yesSensors, 2015
Zeolites have been found to be promising sensor materials for a variety of gas molecules such as NH3, NOx, hydrocarbons, etc. The sensing effect results from the interaction of the adsorbed gas molecules with mobile cations, which are non-covalently ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Diesel Engine Dynamics Modeling Considering Fuel Injection Period Based on Combustion Heat Release Rate Identification

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2013
Heat release rate is an important parameter that affects diesel engine characteristics. The behaviors of intake and exhaust systems are also important because these systems govern the fluid flow into engine cylinders.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Engine exhaust gas emissions from non-road mobile machinery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Non-road mobile machinery is used for a range of different operations with varying engine load characteristics. Fuel consumption and emission amounts from such machinery are dependent on the operation performed.
