A Review on the Relationship between Computer Engineering, Discrete-Math and Graph Theory

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2020
This review is based on understanding the main concept between computer engineering and mathematics based on two of their most important fields, the discrete-math and graph theory. and answering the question that was asked by many students over the years

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Abiotic Stresses: General Defenses of Land Plants and Chances for Engineering Multistress Tolerance

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2018
Abiotic stresses, such as low or high temperature, deficient or excessive water, high salinity, heavy metals, and ultraviolet radiation, are hostile to plant growth and development, leading to great crop yield penalty worldwide.

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Soliton generation and control in engineered materials

open access: yes, 2023
Optical solitons provide unique opportunities for the control of light‐bylight. Today, the field of soliton formation in natural materials is mature, as the main properties of the possible soliton states are well understood. In particular, optical solitons have been observed experimentally in a variety of materials and physical settings, including ...

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Comments on Flipped SU(5) (and F-theory)

open access: yes, 2010
We study the impact of nonrenormalizable operators in flipped SU(5) that can generate a large mu term, R-parity violation, and rapid proton decay. While our motivation is to determine whether F-theory can naturally realize flipped SU(5), this analysis is
