ABSTRACT In this study, we explored the population genetic structure and its relation to environmental adaptations of the dolphinfish (Coryphaena hippurus) in the western Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. Although previously two populations within the Mediterranean Sea were identified, recent evidence suggests more complex structuring.

We use for the first time whole‐genome sequencing to explore current and historical patterns of genetic diversity in European hake in the Northeastern Atlantic, focusing on the recently expanded distribution range in the North Sea. Genomic data revealed a complex scenario with three populations: North Sea, Celtic Sea and Portugal.

This study was conducted to elaborate the canned anchovy (Engraulis anchoita), and to evaluate the canning process, the physical-chemical and microbiological characteristics of the canned product.
