An Ultrasound‐Assisted Pistacia terebinthus L. Extract to Incorporate Into Fermented Sausage

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 9, September 2025.
A selected ultrasound‐assisted terebinth extract (70% ethanol extract) was incorporated into a fermented sausage (sucuk) at different levels (1, 5, and 10 mL/kg) without having a negative effect on the quality and biogenic amine accumulation when compared to ascorbic acid (500 mg/kg) and a control group.

The Urinary Microbiome in Women Using Single‐Use Versus Reusable Catheters for Intermittent Catheterization: An Exploratory Substudy of the COMPaRE Trial

open access: yesNeurourology and Urodynamics, Volume 44, Issue 7, Page 1474-1483, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Aims To characterize the urinary microbiome in women performing clean intermittent self‐catheterization (CISC) and explore microbial changes associated with transitioning from single‐use to reusable catheters. Methods This microbiome study of the COMPaRE trial included female CISC patients with urinary retention randomized to either single‐use

Multidrug‐Resistant Extended‐Spectrum Beta‐Lactamase (ESBL) Producing Escherichia coli in Pet Birds of Bangladesh

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 5, September 2025.
An alarming 43.83% of cloacal samples revealed multidrug‐resistant ESBL‐E. coli, with TEM being the most frequently detected resistance gene. These results underscore pet birds as hidden reservoirs of MDR pathogens, posing a potential threat to public health in Bangladesh. Routine surveillance and responsible antimicrobial use are crucial to mitigating
