Host‐specific and deterministic microbiome assembly in major coleopteran stored‐grain pests

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Dual DNA‐ and RNA‐based sequencing profiled the microbiomes of five major coleopteran stored‐grain pests and their wheat flour substrate. The microbiomes differed significantly among hosts and from flour, yet 11 core bacterial and 9 core fungal taxa were shared across hosts. RNA data revealed host‐specific active microbiota.

Change in the Prevalence and the Antibiotic Resistance of the Enterococcal Species Isolated from Blood Cultures [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2012
Context : Blood stream infections are an important cause of mortality and morbidity. Enterococci have become increasingly resistant to a wide range of antimicrobial agents and enterococcal bacteraemia results in a high mortality of about 54%.

Navigating the future of nano‐pesticides: A perspective on design, efficacy, mechanisms, and environmental stewardship

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Nano‐pesticides are driving a paradigm shift toward sustainable plant protection. This review systematically synthesizes recent advances across four interconnected domains: (i) intelligent formulation design for targeted delivery and controlled release; (ii) interfacial behavior regulation to enhance foliar deposition; (iii) multi‐omics elucidation of ...

Microbial keystone taxa and metabolic signatures in centenarians regulate intestinal homeostasis during aging

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Clostridium scindens and its metabolite indole‐3‐acetic acid (IAA) are identified as a keystone taxon and metabolic signature in centenarians. Clostridium scindens enhances microbial network stability and produces IAA via its own amidase (AMIE) and aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH), thus promoting intestinal homeostasis by activating the aryl hydrocarbon ...

ANTIMICROBIAL SUSCEPTIBILITY PATTERN OF ENTEROCOCCUS SPECIES ISOLATED FROM PATIENTS WITH URINARY TRACT INFECTION

open access: yesGomal Journal of Medical Sciences, 2014
Background: Enterococci are the most common cause of healthcare associated urinary tract infections. The frequency of isolation of enterococci from urinary tract of hospitalized patients has risen.

The Impact of Fermented Quinoa Sourdough with Enterococcus Strains on the Nutritional, Textural, and Sensorial Features of Gluten-Free Muffins

open access: yesFermentation
Gluten-free baked goods exhibit reduced texture and taste characteristics compared to their gluten-containing counterparts. As a result, there is a renewed interest in the fermentation of gluten-free cereals with lactic acid bacteria, which is associated

Early gut microbial and metabolic dysregulation with subclinical cardiac alterations in a nonhuman primate model of Rett syndrome

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
Longitudinal multi‐omics profiling of a nonhuman primate Rett syndrome (RTT) model reveals early systemic alterations. RTT monkeys exhibited postnatal growth retardation, intestinal structural abnormalities, and low‐grade systemic inflammation. Gut microbiome analysis showed delayed microbial maturation and age‐discordant dysbiosis, including altered ...

Multimodal MRI and multiomics reveal high‐risk neurophenotype in brain‐gut circuits as therapeutic target for Crohn's disease

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Through a translational framework combining prospective dual‐center clinical cohorts with dextran sulfate sodium‐induced colitis models, this work integrated advanced neuroimaging, multi‐omics and neuromodulation interventions to redefine the high‐risk neurophenotype as a sustained pathogenic driver rather than a mere phenomenon, proposing brain‐gut ...
