Sensory characteristics of meat and meat products from entire male pigs
Meat Science, 2017The surgical castration of male piglets has traditionally been practised to prevent the development of boar taint in pork meat, but European rules aim to end this practice on a voluntary basis. This study represents a sensory characterization of the meat and meat products from entire male pigs.

Review on keeping entire male pigs
2023The practice of surgical castration raises concerns regarding animal welfare. Raising entire or intact male pigs is an alternative to castration. In addition to offering an alternative to an aversive treatment, entire males offer several advantages in terms of improved feed efficiency, reduced feed intake and enhanced protein deposition.

Food Research International, 1995Abstract This paper reviews the meat quality characteristics of meat from entire male pigs. The advantages and disadvantages of meat from entire male pigs are discussed. The areas requiring further study are emphasized. Detection of endogenous boldenone in the entire male horses
Journal of Chromatography B, 2004Boldenone (1,2-dehydrotestosterone) is a common veterinary anabolic agent. Its structure is very similar to testosterone. Testosterone is endogenous in the horse, whereas there has been no report concerning the detection of endogenous boldenone. This paper reports the direct observation of sulphate conjugate of boldenone in equine urine from entires ...

Advanced‐sectioned images obtained by microsectioning of the entire male body
Clinical Anatomy, 2021AbstractRealistic two‐dimensional (2D) and three‐dimensional (3D) applications for anatomical studies are being developed from true‐colored sectioned images. We generated advanced‐sectioned images of the entire male body and verified that anatomical structures of both normal and abnormal shapes could be visualized in them.
