Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Entrainment in pulsing plumes [PDF]

open access: yesExperiments in Fluids, 2019
Turbulent axisymmetric lazy plumes produced by discharging saline fluid downwards into a less dense uniform environment from a round pipe are examined experimentally. The plume development is controlled by the source flow rate $$Q_0$$

Spectral tuning and after-effects in neural entrainment [PDF]

open access: yes
Neural entrainment has become a popular technique to non-invasively manipulate brain rhythms via external, periodic stimulation. However, there is still debate regarding its underlying mechanisms and effects on brain activity.

A novel photic entrainment mechanism for the circadian clock in an insect: involvement of c-fos and cryptochromes

open access: yesZoological Letters, 2018
Background Entrainment to the environmental light cycle is an essential property of the circadian clock. Although the compound eye is known to be the major photoreceptor necessary for entrainment in many insects, the molecular mechanisms of photic ...

Two-phase numerical study of the flow field formed in water pump sump: influence of air entrainment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In a pump sump it is imperative that the amount of non-homogenous flow and entrained air be kept to a minimum. Free air-core vortex occurring at a water-intake pipe is an important problem encountered in hydraulic engineering.
