Nightlife settings have been the focus of sociological inquiry for decades, with existing studies primarily focused on consumers and selective entry to elite clubs. However, workers' experiences have been largely overlooked. This study examines workers' experiences in elite nightclubs, including getting hired and interacting with managers and consumers.

Short Abstract This paper examines how peri‐urban spaces are governed through concealment and obfuscation. Focusing on the Baixada Fluminense near Rio de Janeiro, it connects land fraud (‘grilagem’) to the obfuscation of violence, proposing the concept of ‘accumulation by disappearance’.

Creditor Rights and Legal Transaction Costs

ABSTRACT I estimate the relationship between increased creditor rights and legal expenditures of debtor corporations by evaluating a securitization law in India allowing secured creditors to seize collateral. The law reduced spending on legal proceedings used by firms to avoid foreclosure, because debt‐related litigation decreased.
