Expert Perspectives: Defining and Managing Progressive Pulmonary Fibrosis in Systemic Sclerosis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Systemic sclerosis–associated interstitial lung disease (SSc‐ILD) is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in SSc, affecting up to three‐quarters of patients. The disease course is highly heterogeneous, ranging from indolent, nonprogressive forms to rapidly progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF).

Dose reconstruction supports the interpretation of decreased abundance of mammals in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
We re-analyzed field data concerning potential effects of ionizing radiation on the abundance of mammals collected in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone (CEZ) to interpret these findings from current knowledge of radiological dose–response relationships, here ...

Adaptive Genomic Divergence Across Altitudes in Capsella bursa‐pastoris

open access: yesBiological Diversity, EarlyView.
Genomic divergence was observed between high‐altitude and low‐altitude populations of Capsella bursa‐pastoris in China, consistent with an important role of ecological factors. Candidate adaptive loci associated with enhanced energy metabolism, photoprotection, and growth plasticity under altitudinal stress were identified.

Correlation between the prediction of “Env” and “Env + Bio” models.

open access: yes, 2018
Rho coefficient of the correlation between the observed species abundances and abundances predicted by “Env+Bio” vs. the correlation coefficient between abundances observed and predicted by “Env” models, for the 68 species.

RNA‐centric world of retroviruses: unravelling the molecular strategies of genomic RNA packaging

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Retroviruses constitute a unique group of RNA viruses that have profoundly influenced both evolutionary trajectories and biomedical research. Their ability to reverse transcribe and integrate into host genomes has shaped genomic architecture across species and contributed to our understanding of oncogenes, gene regulation, and RNA biology ...

Investigations on tree species suitable for the recultivation of degraded land areas in Central Amazonia. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In cooperation with the Embrapa Amazonia Ocidental in Manaus (Amazonas, Brasil) and three German projects (ENV 23, ENV 45, ENV 52), in the year 2000 we especially investigated (1) photosynthesis and carbohydrate allocation and (2) the plant-water ...

Sustainability‐Oriented Innovation and Circular Economy Transitions: Evidence From the UK Textile and Clothing Industry

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The transition to a circular economy (CE) in the textile and clothing (TC) industry is frequently attributed to sustainability‐oriented innovation (SOI), yet empirical understanding of the systemic conditions under which SOI enables CE remains underdeveloped.

Comparison of Electro-Coagulation and Photo-Oxidation UV/O3 Processes in Removal of Acid Blue 113 [PDF]

open access: yesآب و فاضلاب, 2012
Every day million liters of dye wastewater is produced in different industries that cause environmental problems. The purpose of this research was to investigate the possibility of Acid Blue 113 removal, which is one of the most consumed textile dyes, by
