Breaking Boundaries: First Observation of Intertidal Emergence During Mating in Octopuses
Ecology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.We document the first recorded case of intertidal emergence during copulation in Callistoctopus macropus. A mating pair gradually moved from shallow water onto the rocky shore while remaining attached, with the female resisting and the male counter‐anchoring for nearly 20 min before re‐submerging.

Cold‐blooded commerce: Characterizing and predicting trade in Australian squamates
