Organism size determines the strength of environmental filtering
This poster reports preliminary results from a field experiment testing if organism body size determines the strength of environmental filtering.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Vegetative filters for improving environmental quality
Nonpoint source pollution from agricultural areas has been recognized as a major contributor of surface and groundwater quality problems. Sediments, pesticide and nutrient runoffs, and microbial pathogens from farmlands may severely affect quality of water resources.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Removing subordinate species in a biodiversity experiment to mimic observational field studies
Background Positive effects of plant species richness on community biomass in biodiversity experiments are often stronger than those from observational field studies.

Environmental filtering underpins the island species–area relationship in a subtropical anthropogenic archipelago [PDF]
1. Numerous mechanisms have been proposed to explain the island species–area relationship (ISAR), including the passive sampling effect, the habitat diversity effect, ecological drift and a group of mechanisms jointly termed environmental filtering (or ...

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
