Immobilization of halophilic Aspergillus awamori EM66 exochitinase on grafted k-carrageenan-alginate beads [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A novel extreme halophilic exochitinase enzyme was produced by honey isolate Aspergillus awamori EM66. The enzyme was immobilized successfully on k-carrageenan-alginate gel carrier (CA) with 93 % immobilization yield.

Immobilization of Enzymes in Protein Films [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Heterogeneous biocatalysis usually involves the use of immobilized enzymes on solid supports. Enzymes have suitable properties in terms of efficiency and selectivity for use as immobilized catalysts. Different approaches have been developed for effective immobilization, including adsorption, covalent binding, entrapment, encapsulation, and cross ...

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

Immobilization of Mucor racemosus NRRL 3631 Lipase with Different Polymer Carriers Produced by Radiation Polymerization [PDF]

open access: yesMalaysian Journal of Microbiology, 2010
Lipase was partially purified from the culture supernatant of Mucor racemosus NRRL 3631. In an attempt to increase the enzyme stability, the enzyme was immobilized on poly (vinyl alcohol) PVA, radiation cross liked poly (vinyl alcohol/ vinyl pyrrolidone)

A general overview of support materials for enzyme immobilization: Characteristics, properties, practical utility

open access: yes, 2018
In recent years, enzyme immobilization has been presented as a powerful tool for the improvement of enzyme properties such as stability and reusability. However, the type of support material used plays a crucial role in the immobilization process due to ...

miRNA‐29 regulates epidermal and mesenchymal functions in skin repair

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
miRNA‐29 inhibits cell‐to‐cell and cell‐to‐matrix adhesion by silencing mRNA targets. Adhesion is controlled by complex interactions between many types of molecules coded by mRNAs. This is crucial for keeping together the layers of the skin and for regenerating the skin after wounding.

Peptide-Mediated Immobilization on Magnetoferritin for Enzyme Recycling

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2019
Ferritin possess favorable properties because its exterior and interior surface can be applied to generate functional nanomaterials, which make them possible for enzyme immobilization and recycling.

Mediator-free interaction of glucose oxidase, as model enzyme for immobilization, with Al-doped and undoped ZnO thin films laser-deposited on polycarbonate supports [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Al doped and undoped ZnO thin films were deposited by pulsed-laser deposition on polycarbonate sheets. The films were characterized by optical transmission, Hall effect measurement, XRD and SEM.

Cytoplasmic delivery of antibodies through grafting a functional single complementarity‐determining region loop

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We achieved cytoplasmic delivery of non‐cell‐penetrating IgGs by grafting a single functional complementarity‐determining region 1 (CDR1) from the light chain variable region (VL) of the cell‐internalizable 3D8 antibody. The engineered IgG acquired cell‐penetrating ability while maintaining antigen affinity, highlighting CDR1 grafting as a promising ...
