Enhancement of OVA-induced murine lung eosinophilia by co-exposure to contamination levels of LPS in Asian sand dust and heated dust. [PDF]
BackgroundA previous study has shown that the aggravation of Asian sand dust (ASD) on ovalbumin (OVA)-induced lung eosinphilia was more severe in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-rich ASD than in SiO2-rich ASD.

The Pathogenesis of Eosinophilic Esophagitis: Beyond the Eosinophil [PDF]
Over the past two decades, eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) has undergone a remarkable transformation. What used to be a rare, case-reportable condition about which little was known, is now widely recognized as an important cause of upper GI morbidity and the subject of intense research activity.

This study presents a novel portable grasp‐assist glove, weighing only 47 g. The glove integrates smart adhesive pads and a hands‐free control interface based on IMU, designed to aid rheumatic patients with impaired hand function. The system enables switchable adhesion with independent control and detection of user release intent.

Randomized preclinical study of machine perfusion in vascularized composite allografts
This study was designed to identify the optimum machine perfusion parameters for preservation of limbs before transplantation, and determine whether this was better than cold storage. Normothermic machine perfusion at a pressure of 70 mmHg (NMP‐70) provided superior preservation to cold storage after transplantation.

Metabolic Profiling of Human Eosinophils
Immune cells face constant changes in their microenvironment, which requires rapid metabolic adaptation. In contrast to neutrophils, which are known to rely near exclusively on glycolysis, the metabolic profile of human eosinophils has not been ...

The host immune response to gastrointestinal nematode infection in sheep [PDF]
non peer reviewedGastrointestinal nematode infection represents a major threat to the health, welfare and productivity of sheep populations worldwide. Infected lambs have a reduced ability to absorb nutrients from the gastrointestinal tract, resulting in

This study presents receptor‐biased IL‐2 PEGylates that selectively modulate IL‐2 receptor subunit interactions to enhance CD8⁺ T cell antitumor activity while curbing Treg activation and endothelial toxicity. The combined not‐α and not‐β variants balance immune stimulation and prevent T cell exhaustion, offering a novel, fine‐tuned approach for ...

Development and Application of a Functional Human Esophageal Mucosa Explant Platform to Eosinophilic Esophagitis. [PDF]
There is an increasing prevalence of esophageal diseases but intact human tissue platforms to study esophageal function, disease mechanisms, and the interactions between cell types in situ are lacking.

Eosinophils play a crucial role in the progression of temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJOA). This study demonstrates that eosinophils, induced by OVA/IL‐5, promote Lumican secretion in the synovium, which binds to Annexin A1 in chondrocytes, inhibiting transforming growth factor β2 and Smad2/3 phosphorylation.
