Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An Overview of Seafood Allergens: Structure–Allergenicity Relationship and Allergenicity Elimination Processing Techniques

open access: yesFoods
Seafood (fish, crustacean, and mollusk) allergy represents a critical global health issue. Food processing offers a viable strategy for allergenicity mitigation and serves as a critical intervention for seafood allergy prevention.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

mRNA vaccine design using the proteome of Theileria annulata through immunoinformatics approaches

open access: yesmSphere
Theileriosis exerts a substantial impact on ruminants, resulting in significant economic losses within the animal husbandry sector. The current vaccine, a live attenuated parasite, has several limitations that hinder effective disease control. This study

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Identification of PD-1–PD-L1 blockade epitopes in vitro utilizing porcine immunoglobulin and heterologous Fc-fused protein

open access: yesVeterinary Research
Programmed death 1 (PD-1) and its ligand, programmed death ligand 1 (PD-L1), function as pivotal immune checkpoints. Numerous studies have demonstrated the association between the malignant progression of various swine diseases and aberrant expression of

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...
