Strain‐Adaptive Dielectric Metamaterials via Bioinspired “Ligament‐Bone” Architecture for Ultrahigh‐Energy Capacitive Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioinspired strain‐adaptive ligament‐bone architecture achieves record‐high energy density of 26.1 J cm−3 and 90% efficiency at 600 MV m−1, coupled with a Young's modulus of 2.13 GPa. ABSTRACT Polymer dielectrics for capacitive energy storage face fundamental trade‐offs between breakdown strength, energy density, efficiency, and mechanical robustness.

Regioselectivity in the Ring Opening of Epoxides for the Synthesis of Aminocyclitols from D-(-)-Quinic Acid

open access: yesMolecules, 2012
Efficient syntheses of four aminocyclitols are reported. Each synthesis is accomplished in eight steps starting from D-(-)-quinic acid. The key step involves a highly regioselective ring opening of epoxides by sodium azide.

Synthesis with Perfect Atom Economy: Generation of Furan Derivatives by 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition of Acetylenedicarboxylates at Cyclooctynes

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
Cyclooctyne and cycloocten-5-yne undergo, at room temperature, a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition with dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates 1a,b to generate furan-derived short-lived intermediates 2, which can be trapped by two additional equivalents of 1a,b or ...

Human CYP4F3s are the main catalysts in the oxidation of fatty acid epoxides

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2004
CYP4F isoforms are involved in the oxidation of important cellular mediators such as leukotriene B4 (LTB4) and prostaglandins. The proinflammatory agent LTB4 and cytotoxic leukotoxins have been associated with several inflammatory diseases.
