The synthesis of 3-[2-(oxiran-2-yl)ethyl]-1-{4-[(2-oxiran-2-yl)ethoxy]benzyl}imidazolium bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonimide was achieved in seven steps with an overall yield of 63%.
