Clinical Outcomes and Non‐Invasive Testing in Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatohepatitis With Cirrhosis: A Systematic Review

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatohepatitis (MASH) with cirrhosis lacks definitive treatments and poses an increasing healthcare burden globally. We undertook a systematic literature review (SLR) to better understand the disease burden in cirrhosis due to MASH.

Longitudinal comparison of health-related quality of life at 3 and 12 months post-stroke using patient-reported outcome measures

open access: yesJournal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases
Background: Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is a key outcome in stroke survivors, but evidence on distinct physical and mental recovery trajectories is limited. EuroQoL 5-dimension 3-level (EQ-5D-3L) is widely used but prone to ceiling effects and

Asymmetric Cu─N─Ru Bridgedsite Nanozyme‐Loaded Injectable Thermogel Boosts Cuproptosis‐Like Death for Multidrug‐Resistant Urinary Tract Infections

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 19, 2 April 2026.
To address multidrug‐resistant urinary tract infections (MDR‐UTIs), we developed Cu‐ZIF8‐Ru nanozyme featuring an asymmetric Cu─N─Ru catalytic site. This unique structure enhances multienzyme‐mimetic activity, eradicating resistant bacteria by inducing a cuproptosis‐like death pathway through intracellular Cu2+ accumulation and energy depletion.

Synapsids and sensitivity: Broad survey of tetrapod trigeminal canal morphology supports an evolutionary trend of increasing facial tactile specialization in the mammal lineage

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 4, Page 864-911, April 2026.
Abstract The trigeminus nerve (cranial nerve V) is a large and significant conduit of sensory information from the face to the brain, with its three branches extending over the head to innervate a wide variety of integumentary sensory receptors, primarily tactile.

Activation of GPR35 in the Anterior Cingulate Cortex Alleviates Neuropathic Pain and Depression‐Related Behavior

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 4, April 2026.
Sciatic nerve injury led to a significant increase in the expression of GPR35 in the ACC region of mice. This increased interaction with Nr4a1 can activate the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway, thereby reducing neuroinflammation and playing a role in alleviating hyperalgesia and depressive behavior in mice. Guidelines for nutrition in adults with head and neck cancer: The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition

open access: yesJournal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Volume 50, Issue 3, Page 274-338, April 2026.
Abstract Background Head and neck cancer represents the seventh most common cancer diagnosis globally. Maintaining sufficient nutrition is important for preventing malnutrition (undernutrition) and muscle wasting, which contribute to worse outcomes, although many patients are unable to maintain adequate oral intake throughout treatment.

A Call for Screening: Hearing Loss and Chronic Otitis Media in Immigrants to Sweden

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 11, Issue 2, April 2026.
The prevalence of chronic otitis media was 2.3% and hearing impairment was found in 15.2% in this cohort of adult immigrants to Sweden attending Swedish language classes. As learning a new language is crucial to integration into society, we advocate for the inclusion of screening audiometry in the general health check‐up for immigrants.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Swampland: The Cosmologist's Handbook to the String‐Theoretical Swampland Programme

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract String theory has strong implications for cosmology, implying the absence of a cosmological constant, ruling out single‐field slow‐roll inflation, and that black holes decay. The origins of these statements are elucidated within the string‐theoretical swampland programme.
