The Principle of Equivalence

Studies in History and Philosophy of Science Part B - Studies in History and Philosophy of Modern Physics, 2001
start from John Norton's analysis (1985) of the reach of Einstein's version of the principle of equivalence which is not a local principle but an extension of the relativity principle to reference frames in constant acceleration on the background of Minkowski spacetime.

Dark Matter and the Equivalence Principle

Science, 1991
If the dark matter in galaxies and clusters is nonbaryonic, it can interact with additional long-range fields that are invisible to experimental tests of the equivalence principle. We discuss the astrophysical and cosmological implications of a long-range force coupled only to the dark matter and find rather tight constraints on its strength.

The Equivalence Principle

2018
Abstract The equivalence principle is an important thinking tool to bootstrap our thinking from the inertial coordinate systems of special relativity to the more complex coordinate systems that must be used in the presence of gravity (general relativity).

The principle of equivalence

Annals of Physics, 1964
Abstract The principle of equivalence is examined in its role as a test which a prospective theory of gravitation must satisfy. This point of view suggests that the commonly stipulated property of “locality” is inherent in the gravitational field and not in the principle. The original formulation of Einstein ( 1 ) is taken to be correct and complete.
