Treatment effect estimation with covariate measurement error [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper investigates the effect that covariate measurement error has on a conventional treatment effect analysis built on an unconfoundedness restriction that embodies conditional independence restrictions in which there is conditioning on error free ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Validation of Earth Observation Time-Series: A Review for Large-Area and Temporally Dense Land Surface Products

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
Large-area remote sensing time-series offer unique features for the extensive investigation of our environment. Since various error sources in the acquisition chain of datasets exist, only properly validated results can be of value for research and ...

Error estimation and reduction with cross correlations

open access: yes, 2010
Besides the well-known effect of autocorrelations in time series of Monte Carlo simulation data resulting from the underlying Markov process, using the same data pool for computing various estimates entails additional cross correlations.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Application of Regularized Meshless Method with Error Estimation Technique for Water–Wave Scattering by Multiple Cylinders

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
In this manuscript, we will apply the regularized meshless method, coupled with an error estimation technique, to tackle the challenge of modeling oblique incident waves interacting with multiple cylinders.

Error Estimation

open access: yes
AbstractConsider first data-based machine learning techniques. They rely on large sets of examples provided during the training stage and do not learn with equations. Dealing with a situation that do not belong to the training set variability, namely an out-of-distribution sample, can be very challenging for these techniques.

Least product relative error estimation

open access: yesJournal of Multivariate Analysis, 2016
A least product relative error criterion is proposed for multiplicative regression models. It is invariant under scale transformation of the outcome and covariates. In addition, the objective function is smooth and convex, resulting in a simple and uniquely defined estimator of the regression parameter.

Identification of dynamic systems, theory and formulation [PDF]

open access: yes
The problem of estimating parameters of dynamic systems is addressed in order to present the theoretical basis of system identification and parameter estimation in a manner that is complete and rigorous, yet understandable with minimal prerequisites ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
