Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Issues of Estimation in the Monitoring of Constant Flow Continuous Streams [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
This paper deals with some fundamental matters pertaining to estimation of critical quantities associated with continuous processes which are frequently related to the quality rating of the product.

Stochastic Claims Reserve in the Healthcare System: A Methodology Applied to Italian Data

open access: yesRisks
One of the challenges in the healthcare sector is making accurate forecasts across insurance years for claims reserve. Healthcare claims present huge variability and heterogeneity influenced by random decisions of the courts and intrinsic characteristics

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Convergence of simple adaptive Galerkin schemes based on h − h/2 error estimators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We discuss several adaptive mesh-refinement strategies based on (h − h/2)-error estimation. This class of adaptivemethods is particularly popular in practise since it is problem independent and requires virtually no implementational overhead.

Self-equilibrated residual based error estimation on 1-irregular meshes in finite elasticity

open access: yesArchives of Mechanics
We consider well-established techniques for the residual error estimation of finite element approximations applied to problems in finite elasticity.

Interpolation of the Function of Two Variables with Large Gradients in the Boundary Layers [PDF]

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2015
The problem of interpolation for the function of two variables with large gradients in the boundary layers is investigated. It is suggested that the function can be represented as a sum of a regular component with bounded derivatives up to some order and

Estimation for the Multivariate Errors-in-Variables Model with Estimated Error Covariance Matrix

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1984
The authors consider the estimation problem of multivariate errors-in- variables models. Let \(r\times 1\) row vectors \(y_ i\) and \(k\times 1\) row vectors \(x_ i\) satisfy \(y_ i=\beta_ 0+x_ i\beta\), \(i=1,2,...,n\), where \(\beta_ 0\) and \(\beta\) are 1\(\times r\) and \(k\times r\) matrices of parameters, respectively.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Relationship between Motor Estimation Error and Physical Function in Patients with Parkinson’s Disease

open access: yesMedicines, 2020
Background: Motor estimation error is an index of how accurately one’s body movement is recognized. This study determines whether motor estimation error distance is a Parkinson’s disease (PD)- or age-related disability using a two-step task. Methods: The
